Power to the People

Bright Stalk Substation

BACKGROUND

The Bright Stalk Substation was built as part of the Bright Stalk Windfarm project. Bright Stalk Wind Farm saves more than 355 million gallons of water each year and displaces carbon emissions from fossil fuel power plants, a major contributor to climate change. Wind energy also enhances air quality by helping to mitigate the health effects of harmful air pollutants.

Aproach

J.H. Hassinger's construction of the Bright Stalk substation involved a comprehensive process starting from scratch. The site posed numerous challenges, ranging from dealing with low-lying areas during the rainy season to managing drain tiles that extended into the project boundaries. Additionally, the discovery and removal of old home foundations added complexity to the endeavor. Despite these hurdles, the project became one of our most successful undertakings, showcasing our ability to overcome diverse obstacles.
