What is your service area?

Proudly headquartered in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, our business extends all throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest. Some of our Markets and Capabilities lead us all over the United States building substations and transmission lines from coast to coast.

Who is responsible for getting the necessary permits?

We take full responsibility for obtaining all the necessary permits for your construction project. Our experienced team navigates the complexities of local regulations and building codes, ensuring that all required permits are secured in a timely manner. This comprehensive service allows you to focus on your vision while we handle the administrative details, ensuring your project proceeds smoothly and compliantly from start to finish.

Do you have your own crew or do you hire subcontractors?

At J.H. Hassinger, we pride ourselves on our skilled in-house team, which allows us to perform much of the construction work ourselves, ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency throughout every project. However, we also recognize the value of specialized expertise. When a project requires specific skills or additional resources per the project demands, we hire trusted subcontractors who share our commitment to excellence and reliability. By blending our own capabilities with those of carefully selected subcontractors, we ensure that each project benefits from the best possible craftsmanship and efficiency. This approach enables us to deliver comprehensive, top-quality construction services tailored to meet the unique needs of every client and every project.

How do you charge for projects? By the hour, job, etc.?

We use estimates and fixed-price contracts to provide clarity and flexibility to our clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met effectively.

Estimates are used in the initial stages of project planning to give clients a rough idea of the potential costs based on preliminary discussions and available details. This helps clients budget and plan accordingly. As the project details become clearer, we refine these estimates to ensure accuracy.

Fixed-price contracts, on the other hand, are established once the project scope, materials, and timeline are fully defined. This contract type offers a set cost for the entire project, providing clients with financial predictability and peace of mind. By agreeing on a fixed price, clients can be assured there will be no unexpected expenses, which simplifies financial planning and helps avoid budget overruns.

Using both estimates and fixed-price contracts allows us to maintain transparency, build trust, and ensure that our clients are fully informed and confident in the financial aspects of their construction projects.

How long does a typical construction project take?

Every project is different. The duration of a typical construction project varies based on the project's scope, complexity, and specific requirements. For smaller projects, such as minor office renovations or simple site excavation, the timeline can range from a few days to a couple of weeks. Medium-sized projects, like salt sheds or custom commercial buildings, typically take several months to complete. Large-scale projects, including extensive multi-family residential developments or major infrastructure upgrades, can extend from several months to over a year. Throughout each phase, we prioritize meticulous planning, efficient execution, and clear communication to ensure timely completion while maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

What kind of construction do you specialize in?

As you can see from our website; we perform work across a wide range of markets all while self performing many aspects of the project.  We would be delighted to work on any size project in any market.
