West Shore Substation

BACKGROUND

As part of a broader initiative by PPL to enhance the power infrastructure throughout eastern Pennsylvania, they looked to build a new 345kV substation. This West Shore substation was to be created in tandem with the Williams Grove substation and linked by a 1.5-mile-long transmission line, ensuring a more robust and interconnected power system for the region.

Aproach

During the harsh winter months in Pennsylvania, the West Shore and Williams Grove substations underwent construction, a challenging endeavor marked by frigid temperatures. Despite facing adverse weather conditions, dedicated crews and their equipment persevered against the elements. Their collective efforts culminated in the successful completion of the substations, delivering a high-quality product with a commitment to safety and getting it done on time.
