Fire Station Facelift

Wauwatosa Fire Stations No. 52

BACKGROUND

The City of Wauwatosa undertook a project to enhance Fire Station No. 52, opting to transform the existing shared sleep space into individual bunk rooms. This decision stemmed from the city's commitment to providing firefighters with an improved level of privacy and creating a more conducive sleep environment for their dedicated first responders.

Aproach

J.H. Hassinger was honored to have been chosen for the renovation project at Wauwatosa Station No. 52. The initial 1080 square feet of an open sleep space underwent a comprehensive transformation, resulting in the creation of seven distinct private bunk rooms. The redesign was carefully executed with the goal of not only improving the living quarters but also prioritizing the well-being of the firefighters.
