Old world wisconsin brew house
BACKGROUND
In 2010 a tornado destroyed several acres at Old World Wisconsin. This unexpectedly opened up space to celebrate one of the state’s greatest traditions — brewing beer. As with all facilities at the open air museum in Eagle, Wisconsin, the brewhouse needed to combine historic look and appeal, while incorporating modern construction techniques.
Aproach
With its timber frame structure, hand-hewn beams, and authentic Cream City brick, this building seamlessly blends old-world craftsmanship with energy-efficient features to truly stand out as a testament to the rich history of Wisconsin brewing. The end result is a signature space that is both aesthetically pleasing and fully functional, all while preserving the unique character and historical charm of Old World Wisconsin.
"The idea of a brewery and a historic tavern had been part of the original master plan for Old World Wisconsin that was created back in the late 1960s, but that was an aspect of that plan that was never realized. J.H. Hassinger helped bring that vision to life in such an impressive way that many generations will enjoy.”
